In 2017 The Local Loan Company worked closely along side Perth based Communicare to fundraise for much needed supplies for their School for underprivileged children and their Women’s refuge.
We introduced Communicare to a likeminded charitable organisation, Share the Dignity, as part of our inaugural Positively You workshop. Share the Dignity provides donated female hygiene products to women displaced by violence and abuse.
Positively You was our premier event in 2017, its impact has been much broader and unifying than we ever imagined. It was a half day workshop for our guests, where experts in their chosen field would provide advice and strategies for a positive mind, body and finances. We worked with Communicare and raised an amazing amount to donate to their womens refuge. The money was able to provide new furniture for the families at the refuge, yoga classes for the women to help them manage their mental health and musical instruments for the children.
The Local Loan Company takes their part in cultural awareness extremely seriously – with all members of the TLLC team partaking in Cultural Awareness Training online (provided through CAT Online) They also work closely with an Indigenous Business The Digital Factory to assist with business planning, strategy and to provide mentor services.

After the AnyBody campaign went live last year in March- The Local Loan Company have thrown their full support behind this amazing cause. AnyBody is run by Georgia Gibbs (One of our amazing Brokers, Caroline Gibbs’ daughter) and Kate Wasley. Running a Body Positive campaign has been a dream of Georgia’s since she was young- so after a photo she posted online went viral and she and Kate started receiving nasty comments- she thought enough was enough and created AnyBody.
AnyBody is a movement that encourages people of all genders, races, ages, body sizes and body types to quit the comparison and just to love yourself. That you, as you are, is enough. The Local Loan Company felt this message strongly and were happy to be ambassadors and spreading the AnyBody Message.
